Over the next year or so you will have to plan your big day and the more time and effort you put into it the smoother the whole event will run. This is the first in a series of articles which will take you step by step through the planning process. At first the whole process may seem a little overwhelming but not to worry because help is at your finger tips. Possibly the most important factors in organising a successful day are time, planning, budget and your own expectations. The single biggest reason a wedding isn't successful can be found in the attitudes of the bride and those who influence her. Often things will not go according to plan but that doesn't have to spoil the day for either you or your guests.

The list is endless but there is enough here to get you thinking. NB In twenty years time the photographs/video will be all you have to remind you so make sure you get you day professionally recorded.
4. Your Expectations There is only one thing that can ruin your wedding planning and wedding day; your own attitude. If you have higher expectations than are possible with your budget you are going to be overwhelmed from the start. When things do not go according to plan you attitude and flexibility will determine how much it effects you enjoyment. Remember essentially this is about you and your partner making a commitment to share your lives with one another; it's about love. Keep that in mind and do not let any other mishap spoil the beauty of showing your love for one another. With the right attitude the whole event could go pear shaped and you can still feel head over heels in love at midnight.
